About York Region

The Regional Municipality of York, also called York Region, is a regional municipality in south-central Ontario, Canada, between Lake Simcoe and Toronto. The population in 2005 was estimated at 890,000. It is the fastest growing census division in Canada, expected to surpass 1.5 million residents by 2020.
